Specialists from ICTIP participated in an international cybersecurity hackathon
Representatives from State Scientific and Research Institute of Cybersecurity Technologies and Information Protection (ICTIP) participated in a three-day intensive cybersecurity hackathon titled “Defenders in Action”. The event was organized by CRDF Global with support from the U.S. Department of Defense Threat Reduction Office, in partnership with AcuTech and Cyber Unit Technologies.
Institute specialists worked as part of interagency teams alongside representatives from other institutions and organizations, carrying out practical tasks related to identifying cyber threats, analyzing incidents, and protecting critical infrastructure.
The hackathon was focused on developing practical skills in the protection of industrial and technological systems. Participants explored topics such as ICS/OT system architecture, risk assessment, vulnerability identification, security zone modeling, and the application of the ISA/IEC 62443 international standards.
Special attention was paid to CTF and Live-Fire competitions, where scenarios for responding to attacks, detecting compromises, and restoring the resilience of digital systems were practiced.
Participation in such events helps to improve the professional skills of the Institute’s cybersecurity specialists, implement modern approaches to cybersecurity, and foster interagency cooperation in the information security field.
