ICTIP joined Locked Shields 2026
In April, a specialist from the State Scientific and Research Institute of Cybersecurity Technologies and Information Protection (ICTIP), as part of a joint team from Ukraine, Romania, and the Republic of Moldova, participated in the international cyber exercises Locked Shields 2026, organized under the auspices of the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE).
Locked Shields is the world’s largest live-fire cyber defense exercise, and this year brought together over 4,000 specialists from 41 countries. Participants practiced scenarios for protecting critical infrastructure against complex cyberattacks, responding to APT groups, ensuring the resilience of digital systems, and maintaining service continuity under time constraints and with incomplete information.
The exercises included the protection of energy systems, 5G networks, satellite Earth observation platforms, the X-Road government data exchange system, as well as cloud services from AWS and Microsoft Azure.
Participation in the event contributed to gaining practical experience, improving professional competencies in the field of cybersecurity, and strengthening the Institute’s cooperation with the international professional community.
