On October 30, State Scientific and Research Institute of Cybersecurity Technologies and Information Protection (ICTIP) and Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University (VSCNU) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation and Collaboration. This decision is a key step in the development of scientific, scientific- technical, and informational activities, as well as in the formation of a unified system of professional standardization and certification of personnel in the field of cybersecurity and information protection of Ukraine.

Cooperation between ICTIP and VSCNU will lead to the opening of a regional training center for training specialists and providing specific knowledge, skills, and abilities in accordance with professional standards and qualifications. This will ensure high-quality regional training for future specialists and will further facilitate the successful completion of the procedure for assigning/confirming the relevant professional qualifications in the field of cybersecurity and information protection at the Information Technology and Cyber Security Qualification Center of ICTIP.

Cooperation in accordance with the Memorandum involves the development of new professional standards, the adaptation of educational programs for training specialists, the formation of collaborative training programs for professional development, the development of test group bases in accordance with professional standards, the formation of collaborative assessment teams to implement the process of certifying personnel in the assessment of knowledge, skills, and abilities in the field of cybersecurity and information protection. The outlined activities will be carried out with the support and advisory supervision of specialists from the Information Technology and Cyber Security Qualification Center.

The creation of a unified personnel system in the field of cybersecurity and information protection guarantees that specialists in all regions will have the same high level of training and qualifications.

This is of strategic importance for society and the entire security and defense system of our country, and also ensures a sectoral security approach to protecting the national critical infrastructure against hybrid threats.
