Secure satellite communications today form the basis for the reliable operation of government agencies and the defense sector in crisis situations. This was the focus of the GOVSATCOM 2026 international conference in Luxembourg, during which employees of the State Scientific and Research Institute of Cybersecurity Technologies and Information Protection (ICTIP) joined a professional dialogue on the development of secure satellite communication systems.

The event brought together representatives of government agencies, the armed forces, European Union institutions, satellite system operators, and industry. Panel discussions focused on the architecture of multi-orbit constellations and approaches to ensuring continuity of communications. Considerable attention was paid to the practical implementation of the European GOVSATCOM initiative, which provides member states with guaranteed access to secure satellite resources.

During the conference, the First Deputy Head of the ICTIP, Semen Zhyla, held working meetings with equipment manufacturers and satellite service providers. Current trends in the development of state satellite communications and their role in strengthening the capabilities of the security and defense sector were discussed.
